EVENT: Music in the Parks, Six Flags over Georgia Dear Parents and Students, The Robertsville Seventh/Eighth Grade Band has received permission to take a spring performance trip. We have chosen the Music in the Parks Festival that is held in conjunction with the Six Flags Over Georgia theme park. This is a national band festival that will have bands from many areas of the country participating. In addition to the festival and the adjudication of the band performance the students will also enjoy the attractions of Six Flags. The Robertsville Band has almost always earned "Superior" ratings at these competitions. That is our goal again this year. We will leave Robertsville Middle School at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April the 30th. We should return at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May the 1st. We will travel on a tour bus and stay one night at the Marriott Northwest Atlanta. Web site for the hotel: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/atlno-atlanta-marriott-northwest/ The estimated cost per student is $120.00 dollars. That includes all expenses except for four meals. This cost is based on 51 students participating and could be higher if fewer students are going. We really need 100% participation if we are going to do well in the competition. However, the trip is a voluntary activity. Fees for this trip may be paid in two installments or all at one time, as you wish. The first deposit of $60.00 dollars will be due on Wednesday, Jan. 27th. The second and final installment of $60.00 dollars will be due on Wednesday March 31st. You will be notified if the trip cost is revised up or down. We will use the permission/medical form that was filed in the fall. Please notify me if there are important changes in that information.
