Welcome
to WildBand.org, website for the Oak
Ridge High School Band of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Currently
166
members strong, the band is dedicated to performing at
the highest possible level. Please browse this site for
more information about the band, booster program, and
current events.
- Our 2008 Marching Show will feature the music of Earth,
Wind, and Fire. The tunes will include Faces, After
the Love/Fantasy, and In the Stone.
Note that the demo recordings feature electronic instruments
(guitars, etc.) that we
will not be using.
- The 2008-09 Field Commanders will be Amelia
Campbell and Lauren
Carr. A heartfelt 'thanks' goes out to all
those who took the time to try out. We appreciate your
dedication to our band program.
- The ORHS Symphonic and Concert
Bands both earned 'Superior'
ratings at the ETSBOA Concert Festival in Chattanooga,
TN. The Concert Band performed in Grade V, while the
Symphonic Band performed in Grade VI. In addition, both
bands earned a 'I' in Sight Reading.
- Congratulations to the 26 ORHS Band Students who
were selected for the 2008 All-State East concert bands.
Special recognition goes to Dalton Banks (Trumpet), Zach
Yost (Tuba), Jordan Suggs (Bari-Sax), Catherine
Backus (Trumpet) and Emily
Backus (Percussion) for earning a
spot in the 2008 Tennessee All-State Band. In addition,
Jed Storey (Trumpet) and Claire
Campbell (Flute) earned a spot in the Blue
Band. Complete

- 16 ORHS Students were selected for the 2007 ETSBOA
Jr. Clinic. Special recognition goes to Rachel
Oliver (Euphonium), Josh Maberry (Tuba),
and Carter
Banks (Percussion)
for earning 1st Chair honors in the clinic. In all, 11
students were selected for the Gold band, 2 for the Silver,
and 2 for the Bronze bands. Complete

- Congratulations to Zach Yost on being
selected for the US
Army All-American Marching Band. Zach
was one of 91 musicians nationwide selected to perform
at the Army
All-American All Star Bowl game in January.
